This unit was attached to Col. Samuel A. Rice's 2nd Brigade of Brig. Gen. Frederick Salomon's 13th Division of Maj. Gen. Benjamin M. Prentiss' District of Eastern Arkansas, Maj. Gen. Edward O.C. Ord's XIII Army Corps and was commanded by Col. Charles Kitteridge.
