Multiple monument located on Confederate Avenue at Fort Hill (Park Tour Stop 9). This unit was attached to Col. Edward Higgins' River Defense Batteries, Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's Army of Vicksburg, and commanded by Col. A. Jackson, Jr. and Lt. Col. R. Sterling. [Refer to Edwin Bearss' The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume I, page 226; and Volume III, pages 781, 782, 873, and 968.]

Company D (Miller's) - Iron tablet located outside of Vicksburg National Military Park, in the city of Vicksburg at the northwest corner of Fort Hill Road and Hugo Street. This company served one 8-inch Columbiad gun in the Wyman's Hill Battery, and was commanded by Lts. George W. Miller and D. M. Upton. [Refer to Edwin Bearss' The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume I, page 460.]
