This unit was attached to Maj. Thomas D. Maurice's Artillery Command, of Brig. Genl's John McArthur's and Thomas E.G. Ransom's 6th Division, Maj. Gen. James B. McPherson's XVII Army Corps, and commanded by Capt. Charles Mann. [Refer to Edwin Bearss' The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume III, page 962.]
