Monument is located on Grant Avenue across from the Massachusetts Memorial. This unit was commanded by Capt. Sylvester L. Moore.

Company A served on the ram General Bragg.

Company D served part time at Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's headquarters and later on the tinclads Rattler and Cricket.

Company G served on the ram Switzerland.

Company H served on the ironclad LaFayette and the ram Monarch.

Company K served as Provost Guard at Maj. Gen. Ulysses S. Grant's headquarters.
