Doing Business With The Park

Certian activities within the boundary of Vicksburg National Military Park may require a permit. Filming within the park may also require a permit, depending on the nature of, and extent of the filming. Commerical Use Authorizations (For Tour Operators)

A Commerical Use Authorization (CUA) is a permit that authorizes suitable commerical services for park visitors within Vicksburg National Military Park. The term of the CUA may not exceed 2 years and no preferential right of renewal or similar provisions for reneval may be provided.

Vicksburg National Military Park can authroize a variety of commerical services, including transportation, and guided tours.

 

Filming and Photography Permits

Filming/Photograghy Permits are issued for photography, filming, and associated sound recording when they involve props, models, professional crews, and casts or set dressings. Permits are issued to ensure the protection of resources and to prevent significant disruption of normal visitor uses. Permits are also required for access to areas normally closed to the visiting public.

 

Special Use Permits

Vicksburg National Military Park is home to many beautiful and memorable landscapes which make it a popular place for weddings and special events. Most special events and activities held in the park require a Special Use Permit, issued only after the National Park Service determines that the activity will not cause derogation of the park's resources or values, visitor experiences, or the purpose for which the park was established.
