The facilities and grounds of Tuzigoot National Monument are closed each year on December 25. Rangers will reopen the monument to welcome visitors at 8:00 a.m. MST on December 26.
Be a Junior Ranger!The Junior Ranger program at Tuzigoot National Monument is a great way for our young visitors to have fun, earn their badge and be more aware of their surroundings. The program is easily completed on a visit to Tuzigoot and helps kids understand the relationship of the environment to the prehistoric people who inhabited the Verde Valley.

Tuzigoot is an Apache word meaning 'crooked water'. The ruins at Tuzigoot National Monument were named by an Apache member of the excavation crew, referring to nearby Pecks Lake.
