  • High Water

    The rivers are running high and fast and the water is cold. Be prepared and cautious if venturing out on the rivers! Watch for debris and low clearance under bridges.

  • Wells Closed

    Beginning in 2013, water will no longer be available at McDowell Bridge Landing, Riverside Landing, and the Marshland District Office on Highway 70. Please plan accordingly and bring an adequate supply of water.

NPS prescribed burns
The St. Croix National Scenic Riverway plans to conduct three prescribed burns in the Riverway corridor in the spring of 2013. These burns may take place May 15 - 22, depending on weather conditions. The National Park Service (NPS) is conducting these prescribed fires to improve prairie and savanna habitat along the St. Croix River.

Reopen Visitor Center
The Arcola Mills Historic Foundation and the National Park Service (NPS) are pleased to announce that Arcola Mills will again host an NPS Visitor Center. The site will be open to the public from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays from May 9 through October 21, 2013.

The Old Man of the Dalles is one of the many features visitors can see looking at the rocks in the Dalles, or rocky gorge, of the St. Croix River. A great way to view these rocky features, as well as St. Croix NSR, is from the water in a boat or a canoe.
