Stillwater Islands Listening Session
The National Park Service (NPS) will hold a listening session on Wednesday, December 2, from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. at the Stillwater City Hall.

July Events- Upper St Croix and Namekagon
Fly tying workshops and programs on mussels, frogs, and wolves are highlights of the July 2009 programs offered by the National Park Service along the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway.  For the full list of public programs located between Grantsburg and Cable, Wisconsin, please see the attached press release.

Kayak programs and a twilight paddle are highlights of the July 2009 programs offered by the National Park Service along the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway.  The public is invited to attend the following programs, all located between St. Croix Falls/Taylors Falls and Marine on St. Croix during the month of July.

NPS Photographic Exhibit
“America’s Best Idea:  A Photographic Journey Through Our National Parks,” will be on display at the St. Croix National Scenic Riverway’s Marshland Center. This free exhibit features stunning landscape photographs by famed photographer Stan Jorstad, the first professional photographer to photograph all of the National Parks.

Did You Know?
A new species of dragonfly, the St. Croix Snaketail, was discovered within St. Croix NSR in 1989. It has only been found to reproduce in one other river in Wisconsin. It prefers large streams with fast flow and clean water, abundant cobble and gravel with sand bottoms in forested watersheds.
