In 2020, the public was invited to celebrate 150 years of light at Point Reyes with a virtual birthday bash with all the park rangers here. Built in 1870 and first lit on December 1 of that year, the Point Reyes Lighthouse was an important signal for the guidance and safety of mariners who traveled up and down the Northern California coastline.

From 2008 to 2020, the public was invited to join Point Reyes National Seashore staff for Science Lectures, 45 minute presentations on scientific research being performed at Point Reyes and elsewhere in the California. Science Lectures were sponsored by the Pacific Coast Science and Learning Center at Point Reyes National Seashore.

From 1981 to 2019, Point Reyes National Seashore hosted a Big Time Festival at Kule Loklo in mid-July of each year. Big Time is a gathering that evokes the past while exploring the present and future of the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria and Native California.

From 2011 to 2018, Point Reyes National Seashore, in collaboration with the Point Reyes National Seashore Association (PRNSA) and Sonoma Birding, invited families with children ages 3–18 to the Annual Point Reyes Christmas Bird Count for Kids (CBC4Kids) in early January of most years.

During 2014, Point Reyes National Seashore celebrated the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act and the Centennial of Marconi & RCA Wireless Radio in West Marin. In preparation for the Marconi Centenial, the National Seashore and the Bolinas Museum invited those with stories, information, objects, photos, documents, or other things of interest relating to this history to share these resources with the park, museum, and the public in November 2013. And in November 2011, Cam Trowbridge, author of Marconi: Father of Wireless, Grandfather of Radio, Great-Grandfather of the Cell Phone, The Story of the Race to Control Long-Distance Wireless gave a public talk about Guglielmo Marconi's construction and operation of the two wireless radio stations in the Point Reyes area between 1912 and 1919.

In 2012, Point Reyes National Seashore, in conjunction with numerous community partners, carried out a year-long celebration of its 50th anniversary as part of our nation's National Park System.

In 2010, Point Reyes National Seashore partnered with the West Marin Chamber of Commerce, West Marin Visitors Bureau, and Point Reyes National Seashore Association to bring to you Special Events Weeks. The public was invited to come visit Point Reyes National Seashore to see and experience our diverse natural resources and cultural heritage!

Prior to 2011, Point Reyes National Seashore hosted volunteer workdays for California Invasive Weeds Awareness Week and/or National Invasive Weeds Awareness Week.
