Crowd waits for the Candlelight Tour to begin 2004

Date:  October 11, 2004

Our Annual Candlelight Tour held this year on Saturday, October 9, was the largest we’re ever had here at Ninety Six NHS. We had about 1300 people. Nine tours went out through the battlefield, some with as many as 190 people on them. We received nothing but compliments and wish to thank all our reenactors and volunteers that helped out. There is no charge for the event and thanks to everyone who donated because with your help we can have more exciting and record-breaking events! Mark your calendars for next year’s event. The Candlelight Tour is held every year. Check out our events schedule to find out more.

Light Horse Harry Lee

Did You Know?
Light Horse Harry Lee got his nickname because of his daring rides against the British. Lee’s Legion wore green uniforms like those of the British Cavalryman Banastre Tarleton. It allowed them to operate in enemy territory & blend with the landscape. You can see where Lee fought at Ninety Six NHS.
