Here are some reminders:
* Alcohol is not allowed.
* Dogs must remain on a leash while in the park.
* Fireworks are not allowed.
* Special events require a permit. Applications for permit must be submiited 14 days before the event and are subject to approval. There is a $50 non-refundable application fee.
It is the responsibility of visitors to understand and comply with all applicable state, local, and federal firearms laws before entering this park.
Under new federal law (February 22, 2010), along with state and local laws, those people who meet certain guidelines may possess firearms in the park but not in federal buildings.
FIREARMS PROHIBITED IN FEDERAL BUILDINGS
Firearms are prohibited in federal buildings where federal employees work. This includes visitor centers, park administrative offices, maintenance buildings, and ranger stations.
Did You Know?
Railroad spur lines connected Lookout Mountain ore mines to valley furnaces. This railroad was know as the Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia Rail Line (TAG Rail Lines).
