Free Shuttle Expands Visitor Experience for Ferry Riders Gateway National Recreation Area is offering Manhattan riders who visit the park by New York Water Taxi ferry an opportunity to see more sites via the new National Park Service Visitor Transport Shuttle Service. The free shuttle originates at Riis Landing on the Rockaway Peninsula and stops at the Jacob Riis Park Boardwalk, the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, and at Floyd Bennett Field, including the Aviator Sports Center and the Historic Aircraft Restoration Hangar. The shuttle busses are equipped with bike racks and are handicapped accessible. Shuttles operate Saturdays and Sundays only from 10:30 a. m. until 5:30 p.m. through Labor Day.
