Visitor Center and Administration Facility, Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve, Chase County, Kansas
This visitor facility provides travelers with information, orientation, and interpretation about Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve as well as comfort facilities and staff offices. The structure is designed as an earth sheltered structure to reduce visual impact and take advantage of the earth's insulation properties. The green vegetative roof reflects the culture and history of the past. Natural daylighting is provided by solar tubes and a courtyard.
