Seashore Programs for March and Visitor Center Opening Dates

Harkers Island, NC -- Superintendent Russel J. Wilson announced the opening of visitor facilities at Cape Lookout National Seashore:    

 

  • The Light Station Visitor Center and Keepers’ Quarters Museum at the Cape Lookout Lighthouse will open on Thursday, March 26. 
  • Portsmouth Village, Great Island Camps, and Long Point Camps will open on Monday, March 30.

 

Volunteers will present lighthouse talks daily at 10:30 AM, 1:30 PM and 3:30 PM on the porch of the Keepers’ Quarters next to the lighthouse.

 

Walking tours of Historic Portsmouth Village will be led by volunteers at 10:30 AM on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays beginning on Memorial Day and ending on Labor Day.  Tours begin at the ferry landing.

 

Other programs by Park Rangers will be added as the season progresses.  Contact the seashore at (252) 728-2250, ext 3001 for more information.
