COPPER CENTER, Alaska – National Park Service officials at Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve have announced visitor center operating hours for the summer 2026 season.

Park visitor centers and ranger stations provide trip planning assistance, maps, exhibits, educational displays, passport stamp stations, bookstore items, and information about current park conditions. 

Wrangell-St. Elias Visitor Center, Copper Center
May 11 – September 20, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Kennecott Visitor Center
May 23 – September 13, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Slana Ranger Station           
May 23 – September 20, open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Chitina Ranger Station
May 31 – August 30, limited hours

Visitors are encouraged to stop at a park facility before beginning their trip to get the latest updates on road access, weather, safety information, and recreational opportunities. For more information, check the park website at www.nps.gov/wrst or call the main visitor center at 907-822-7250.
