Wrangell-St. Elias National Park Subsistence Resource Commission Announces February 25-26 Meeting

COPPER CENTER, AK – The Wrangell-St. Elias National Park Subsistence Resource Commission will meet at the park’s Visitor Center in Copper Center, Alaska, and by teleconference on Tuesday, February 25, and Wednesday, February 26, 2025, to consider a range of issues related to subsistence hunting and fishing in the park. This is the alternate meeting date, and the meeting location has changed from the one announced in the Federal Register.

Commission business will include opportunities to develop proposals to change federal subsistence hunting and trapping regulations and to provide a recommendation on a request to add the community of Tolsona to the park’s resident zone. Tolsona residents are encouraged to provide comments on the request either by teleconference or attending the meeting in person. Additionally, a variety of reports will be presented. The meeting is open to the public, and public testimony opportunities are provided. Members of the public are encouraged to participate.

On February 25, the meeting will start at 9 AM and recess for the day at 5 PM or upon completion of business. On February 26, the meeting will start at 9 AM and continue until business is completed. If business is completed on February 25, the meeting will adjourn, and no meeting will take place on February 26.
