Both federal subsistence and State of Alaska sport hunting are permitted in Wrangell-St. Elias National Preserve. State sport harvests are regulated by the Alaska Board of Game while federal subsistence harvests are regulated by the Federal Subsistence Board.
To be eligible to hunt in the park or preserve under federal subsistence regulations, you must be considered a local, rural resident. Are YOU eligible to subsistence hunt? Federal subsistence hunting permits are available at park visitor centers. |
