Wright Brothers National Memorial will be joining national park sites across the country in celebrating the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday by waiving entrance fees on January 21, 2013.

Recently Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced that the National Park Service will waive admission fees on thirteen selected dates through-out 2013.Fee free days will also be offered during National Park Week (April 22 - 26), Great Outdoors Day (June 21), National Public Lands Day (September 28) and the weekend of Veterans Day (November 9 - 11).Additional information can be found on line at https://www.nps.gov.

"Our national parks continue to provide great opportunities for everyone to recreate, reconnect with nature, build a sense of stewardship toward parks and the environment, and to learn more about our great country," stated Superintendent Barclay Trimble.

The staff of Wright Brothers National Memorial, Fort Raleigh National Historic Site and Cape Hatteras National Seashore encourages everyone to visit one of our nation's premier parks this year, including the parks in your own backyard.Bring your family and friends to Wright Brothers, the site of the first powered flight, and learn more about this great nation's aviation history.Enjoy exploring the nation's first national seashore, and visit the site of the first English settlement.

Entrance fees are not charged at Fort Raleigh National Historic Site or Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
