Women's Rights NHP Hosts Polish Women for an International Leadership Program

Women's Rights National Historical Park hosted a delegation from the United States Department of State on Saturday, June 30, 2012. Three Polish women, all participating in an International Leadership Program, visited the park.

Park Ranger Jamie Wolfe guided them through the park's visitor center and adjacent Wesleyan Chapel. The park tour included an explanation of the historical significance of the First Women's Rights Convention, a viewing of an 1848 copy of the "Report of the Woman's Rights Convention" booklet, and a discussion about fashion near the park's reproduction Bloomer costume exhibit.

"Women's Rights National Historical Park interprets the history of the 1848 Women's Rights Convention," said Superintendent Tammy Duchesne. "We are excited to be a part of this cultural and educational learning experience for our Polish guests," added Superintendent Duchesne.

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, International Visitor Leadership Program hosted three Polish women on a country-wide tour, which included a visit to Women's Rights National Historical Park on June 30. Josephine M. Perini, Director of the Rochester International Council of Women and language interpreter, Ursula Wolko-Klingenberg, accompanied the delegation.
