Seneca Falls - The M'Clintock House, located at 14 East Williams Street in Waterloo, will reopen for tours beginning Friday, May 28. The site will be open Friday through Monday, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, throughout the summer. Interpretive programs about the M'Clintock family will be offered at 2:00 and 3:00 on those days. The house is part of Women's Rights National Historical Park. The house was the home of Thomas and Mary Ann M'Clintock, prominent Quakers active in both the anti-slavery and women's rights movements. Their home served as a stop on the Underground Railroad and was the site for planning the First Women's Rights Convention held in 1848, in Seneca Falls. The parlor of the home is recognized as the location where the Declaration of Sentiments, presented at the convention, was drafted. |
