Whitman Mission National Historic Site partners with Walla Walla Public Library for summer events
WALLA WALLA, Wash. – Whitman Mission National Historic Site will be partnering with the Walla Walla Public Library to offer free events for children and families throughout the summer!
On Mondays from June 17 to August 12, park rangers from Whitman Mission will be at Washington Park for “Read with a Ranger” from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm. Families are encouraged to drop in and let young readers practice their reading skills with a park ranger. Books provided by the library will be available for children to bring home with them. Washington Park is located in town at 700 W Cherry St. Walla Walla, WA, and can be accessed on the Valley Transit Route 9 Pine Street Loop.
On Tuesday July 9 from 2:00 to 4:30 pm, the library will be hosting their Terrific Tuesday field trip at Whitman Mission! Park and library staff will be providing a variety of educational, hands-on activities designed for children of all ages during this event. Activities will take place around the park site and in the visitor center, allowing families to explore different parts of this important piece of Pacific Northwest history.
