Audio Description

Audio description devices are available to borrow at the information desk. Audio description is available for the film in the theater and all videos and informational panels in the exhibits.

The interactive touch screens surrounding the large scale model of the White House have a headphone jack port below the button panel which provides an audio description of the touch screen content. 

An audio description of the park brochure (85.2MB zip) is available to download online. 

 

You can borrow braille brochures and audio description devices from the information desk.

The park brochure is available in braille. You can download the braille ready file (.brf) to print at home or borrow a copy of the braille brochure from the information desk.

Large Print

Large print park brochures are not available.

Hands-On Experiences

The exhibit area includes tactile and interactive elements such as a scale model of the White House, tactile floor plans, a piece of the White House’s stone exterior, and replicas of objects like the North Portico doorknob.

Under the interactive touch screens surrounding the large White House model, you will find a pull-out drawer with tactile layouts and braille labels of the grounds and floor plans.

 

Lafayette Square and the Ellipse

Audio descriptions of the statues and memorials throughout Lafayette Square and the Ellipse are on the NPS app.
