Ellipse in President’s Park closed August 10-21 for road repaving

WASHINGTON - The National Park Service is repaving the road within the Ellipse in President’s Park, south of the White House. All roads and public walkways within the Ellipse will be closed Saturday, Aug. 10 through Wednesday, Aug. 21 during the repaving project. Cyclists and pedestrians are encouraged to use Constitution Avenue NW or Pennsylvania Avenue NW as detours.

The south grounds of the White House will remain visible from 16th Street NW and Constitution Avenue NW throughout this project. The north grounds of the White House will remain visible from Pennsylvania Avenue NW. Views from Pennsylvania Avenue NW will be partially obstructed throughout the White House fence replacement project.
