Nurse Shark

Nurse Shark, scattering small, silvery fish
STATION #3: IT'S A SHARK!  Don't worry; this is a Nurse Shark (Ginglymostoma cirratum), which is quiet and non-aggressive.  But notice how the small, silvery fish are getting out of the way?!

Nurse Sharks do eat small fish; they also enjoy a bite or two of crabs, shrimp, squid and sea urchins. Swim onto station #4 to see a shark relative.
