Multiple monument located on the south side of Union Avenue approximately 0.2 miles west of the Navy Memorial (Tour Stop 7). Monument designating the assault of 22 May 1863, located between Union Avenue and Confederate Avenue at Thayer's Approach (Tour Stop 6), and monument designating sharpshooters' line on the south side of Union Avenue approximately 0.1 mile west of the Navy Memorial.

This unit was attached to Col. Charles R. Woods' 2d Brigade, of Maj. Gen'ls Frederick Steele's and Brig. Gen. John M. Thayer's 1st Division, of Maj. Gen'ls William T. Sherman's and Frederick Steele's XV Army Corps, and commanded by Lt. Col. Theodore Meumann.

At Chickasaw Bayou (26 Dec 1862 - 2 Jan 1863) the regiment was attached to Brig. Gen. Charles E. Hovey's 2d Brigade, of Brig. Gen. Frederick Steele's 4th Division, Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman's Expeditionary Force, and commanded by Col. Isaac F. Shepard . [Refer to Edwin Bearss' The Vicksburg Campaign, Volume I, page 227.]
