Monument located on Union Avenue 400 yards south of Graveyard Road. Also markers designating the assault of 19 May 1863, located on Graveyard Road opposite the north face of the Stockade Redan; a marker designating the assault of 22 May 1863, off of Confederate Avenue near the Missouri Memorial and a marker designating a sharpshooter's line, located 270 yards south of the Missouri Memorial on the scout's trail. This unit was attached to Col. Giles A. Smith's 1st Brigade of Maj. Gen. Francis P. Blair's 2nd Division, Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman's XV Army Corps and was commanded by Col. George B. Hoge (wounded 22 May 1863) and Lt. Col. John W. Paddock.
