Monument located on Union Avenue 400 yards south of Graveyard Road. Also markers designating the assault of 19 May 1863, located on Graveyard Road opposite the north face of the Stockade Redan; the assault of 22 May 1863, off of Confederate Avenue near the Missouri Memorial; and sharpshooter's line, located 270 yards south of the Missouri Memorial on the Boy Scout hiking trail. This unit was attached to Col. Giles A. Smith's 1st Brigade of Maj. Gen. Francis P. Blair's 2d Division, Maj. Gen. William T. Sherman's XV Army Corps and commanded by Col. George B. Hoge (wounded 22 May 1863) and Lt. Col. John W. Paddock.
