Tonto National Monument Receives Field Trip Grant from the National Park Foundation
Tonto National Monument was selected to receive a 2017 field trip grant from the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America's national parks. Tonto National Monument will bring fourth grade students from six elementary schools to the monument for a curriculum-based field trip.

Due to Recent Rains, Fire Restrictions are lifted at Tonto National Forest and Tonto National Monument
Roosevelt, AZ - Effective on July 21st, all districts of the Tonto National Forest and the Tonto National Monument fire restrictions are lifted. Normal fire regulations are still in effect. Fire conditions as well as localized closures and restrictions are subject to change.

Roosevelt, AZ - The Salt River Project will be working on updating critical powerline infrastructure near Tonto National Monument on July 10th. Because of the power outage and impacts to visitor safety, Tonto National Monument will be closed all day Monday.

Tonto National Monument Reduces Summer Hours to Hike to the Lower Cliff Dwelling
Roosevelt, AZ - In order to mitigate the number of heat-related incidents and promote visitor safety, Tonto National Monument will reduce summer hours to the Lower Cliff Dwelling from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. starting on June 1, 2017 and ending on August 31, 2017.

Tourism to Tonto National Monument Creates $3,155,800 in Economic Benefits
Roosevelt, AZ - A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that in 2016, 38,048 visitors to Tonto National Monument spent $2,224,600 in communities near the park. This visitor spending supported 33 jobs in local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of $3,155,800.

"Things that Go Bump in the Night" offered at Tonto National Monument on Saturday, February 25 from 7 pm - 9 pm
Roosevelt, AZ - Tonto National Monument provides invaluable habitat for a variety of wildlife and a number of nocturnal creatures. Hike to the Lower Cliff Dwelling with a park ranger and learn about the diverse nocturnal wildlife that call Tonto home. This event is free and open to the public. Activities for kids will be offered at 7:00 pm and the hike to the Lower Cliff Dwelling will begin at 7:30 pm. The entry gate to the park will be closed at 7:30 pm, so please plan to arrive before that time. Bring a headlamp, water, and comfortable shoes for hiking.
