Summer Tours Schedule 

^{(End of February through middle of November)}
During weekdays, tours of the Taft House are available every thirty minutes on the hour and half-hour, starting at 9:00 a.m. The last weekday tour each day will leave at 4:00 p.m.

During weekends, 4 tours will be available each day on weekends: 9 am, 10 am, 1pm, and 2pm. Large groups of 10 or more will be accommodated outside those times, tour buses will always receive a self-guided tour if a prior reservation is made. Visitors outside those times will have access to the house on a self-guided basis with a ranger or volunteer available for questions. 

Winter Tours Schedule

During the park's winter operations schedule, the Taft Family home and the Taft Education Center are open from 9:00 am until 4:00 pm, Thursdays through Sundays. Both facilities are closed to the public from Monday through Wednesday during winter operations. Tours of the Taft Home during winter operations are offered on Thursday, Fridays and Sundays. On Saturdays, self-guided tours will be available between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. During winter operations, for parties of 10 or more guests, please email the park's group reservation coordinator.

Guided tours of the Taft Home are available as staffing levels permits. When staffing levels are too low, tours will be self-guided of the Taft Home. Visitors to the park can explore the home where William Howard Taft was born and raised. Guests will be able to view various rooms in the home that have special meaning to certain periods of Taft's life. The home is decorated in period, Victorian-era furnishings and motiff, giving guests the feel of what life was like during the years that Taft lived in the home.

Duration

30-60 Minutes

Tour length is usually around 30 minutes, depending on the ranger program being given at the time. Time spent after the tour in the home is dependent upon visitor's availability to browse the interpretive exhibits and displays.

Guided Tours

Guests can visit the park and them head over to the Taft Family Home to enjoy a ranger-guided tour of the home. After the tour, guests will have time to explore the interpretive exhibits in the home and ask rangers any questions about the tour and/or William Howard Taft.

Accessibility Information

No pets are allowed in the home, but service animals are permitted. An elevator is available to those in need of climbing assistance or with wheelchairs. Please let a ranger know of your need for an elevator and they will escort you to the elevator entrance to access the inside of the home where tours take place.
