Thing to Do
Uplands Trail - South Rim
An early morning or late evening walk on the Uplands Trail provides a chance to catch wildlife when they are most active. Hike this 1.3 mile trail (away from the canyon's rim) while watching for mammals and birds, or at least their tracks. Gambel oak, Utah serviceberry, and big sage brush are the plants that dominate the hike.
The Uplands Trail intersects with both the Rim Rock Trail and the Oak Flat Trail. Park at either Gunnison Point or near the South Rim Campground Loop C.
