Start Your Experience at the Visitor Center
The Visitor Center is your entrance into the visitor experience at Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site. Park staff and volunteers (VIPs) will be located at the front desk to greet and orient you to the park. All guided tours of White Haven begin in the Visitor Center and the site's orientation film is shown in the theater every 30 minutes at the top and bottom of each hour. Children interested in earning their Junior Ranger Badge can learn about more the program and pick up an activity book. Temporary exhibits on Ulysses S. Grant's life are also displayed in the Visitor Center on an occassional basis. Restroom facilities and a drinking fountain are also located near the front desk. While exploring the Visitor Center, pick up a brochure with the park map.
Bookstore and National Parks Passes
Books, educational materials, and other gifts are available for purchase inside the Visitor Center. The bookstore inventory is managed Jefferson National Parks Association. Park staff also issue a host of federal recreation lands passes, also known as "America the Beautiful Passes." Annual, Senior Annual, and Lifetime Annual passes are sold, while Active Military, Access, and 4th Grade passes are issued for free upon request. Pets are not allowed in the Visitor Center with the exception of service animals. A service animal is defined as “any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability.” Dogs are the only animals that can be used as a service animal except for miniature horses.

Accessibility Information
The park's Visitor Center is fully accessible with wheelchairs, walkers, and other assisted mobile devices. The park also owns two wheelchairs that are kept in the Visitor Center and available for use upon request. The park brochure is availble in braille and in German and Spanish. All are availble upon request at the front desk. Assisted Listening Devices and Descriptive Listening Devices are also available upon request for visitors who choose to watch the orientation film in the Visitor Center theater.
