Once the bustling heart of the city, the St. Louis riverfront on the Mississippi river is still a great place to take in the views and watch the river traffic. The riverboats you see to the south offer tours, tickets available in the Gateway Arch Visitor Center.

The Grand Staircase connects Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard to the Gateway Arch grounds. It has about 65 steps with a hand railing on each of its outer edges. There are two ramps on either side of the Staircase that also connect Leonor K. Sullivan Boulevard to the Gateway Arch grounds.
