Thing to Do
Paddle Echo Lake

Ashley L. Conti/Friends of Acadia
Explore Echo Lake beyond the beach. Launch your watercraft from Ikes Point, where there is a concrete boat ramp and limited parking. Here, you'll find views of the surrounding mountains and tree-lined cliffs on the west side of Mount Desert Island. In summer, keep an eye out for nesting loons!
Paddleboarding, pets, and swimming are permitted at Echo Lake. Please keep your distance from loons and other wildlife. Everyone must have their own life vest (PFD) when boating in Acadia. Children 10 years old or younger must wear their life vests at all times when on board. Speed limit on Echo Lake is 10 mph.
