Pets are not allowed on trails. Pets can only be on 6 foot leashes where cars can go; roadway, scenic pullouts, and picnic areas/campgrounds.

Conveniently located along Interstate 94, the South Unit is the park's most visited area. The South Unit's small but bustling gateway town, Medora, is an attraction in its own right.

Accessibility Information
Skyline Vista, Boicourt Trail, and the overlook at the Painted Canyon Visitor Center are accessible trails. All other trails are gravel or dirt and range in difficulty from easy to strenuous.

Short Walks
