Bandelier National Monument has over 70 miles of trail within its boundaries. The most popular of these trails are the Main (Pueblo) Loop Trail and Alcove House Trail which are accessed from the visitor center in Frijoles Canyon. These trails take you to many Ancestral Pueblo sites.

The Falls Trail is another trail that is very popular. It takes you to a beautiful waterfall. Flooding destroyed the trail leaving no access to the Rio Grande from Frijoles Canyon. There are no archeological sites on this trail.

Accessibility Information

Most of the park's backcountry trails are rugged and strenuous to hike. Expect significant elevation gain & loss, uneven terrain, and moderate route-finding on any of the backcountry trails. 
None of the park trails meet ADA accessibility standards but the Main Loop Trail (Pueblo Loop Trail) is an improved surface trail, it is NOT ADA accessible due to some steep grades, pinch points, lack of railings etc.

Guides to the Main Loop Trail are available in large print, Braille, Spanish, French, Japanese, German, and Russian.
