Hanford: Visit the Museum at Keewaydin

NPS/Hildebrandt
Located in Kennewick’s oldest park, Keewaydin Park, the Museum at Keewaydin shares the history of East Benton County. The museum's collections include cultural ephemera and artifacts from European settlers and World War II. The exhibits give a sense of life in a community that was close to the Manhattan Project.
In front of the museum is a remnant of the Green Bridge. The bridge separated the all-White City of Kennewick from the segregated East Pasco where Black Manhattan Project workers were forced to live. A sign posted on the bridge declared Kennewick a sunset town where Blacks were not allowed after sunset.
