Thing to Do
Challenge 3: Reader to Farmer to County Judge to Senator to Vice President to President!

NPS
Read a book at The Truman Farm Home. You can even choose from a selection of his favorite books.
As you sit on the porch of the farmhouse, understand how reading helped him become a hard-working man of the land. Imagine the struggles he faced as a farmer, the triumphs he celebrated during harvest and the resilience that built him before war time.
You can see some of the books that Harry S Truman loved, by looking at the list of books inventoried at his home in Independence, Missouri. You can see that list here: Truman Home Study Book List - Harry S Truman National Historic Site (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov)
Some of his books that he had at the Farm are also still in his working office at the Truman Library!
