Hike Castle Windy Trail
This trail is located at Canaveral National Seashore's Apollo Beach District along South Atlantic Avenue accessed via New Smyrna Beach. This is an easy walk recommended only during the winter months due to our friend the mosquito. If and when you do get a chance to stroll down this one mile round trip trail you will be surrounded by the coastal hammock forest. It is filled with a high diversity of plantlife from temperate oak trees to the subtropical bayonet plant. At the end of the trail you are rewarded with a glimpse of the ancient Timucuan Castle Windy midden. Enjoy fishing or a picnic at the waters edge.
