Birdwatching at Puʻuhonua o Hōnaunau
Grab your binoculars and set out on a birdwatching adventure along the South Kona coastline. See the vibrant yellow saffron finch, hear the boisterous calls of the common Myna, and watch as the ʻAukuʻu (black crowned night heron) silently stalks its prey in the Royal Ponds.

No pets are allowed within the Royal Grounds and Puʻuhonua. Pets are allowed in the Picnic Area and on the 1871 trail as long as they are on a 6 foot leash at all times.
