Jr. Ranger Program
Learn and explore Fort Union Trading Post National Historic Site with the free Junior Ranger program. Kids (and adults) of all ages can become a Junior Ranger by completing activities during a visit to the park.
Follow the instructions in the activity book. When completed, return to the Visitor Center to receive your official Junior Ranger badge and, for kids 4-16, receive your "buffalo robe" for the Jr Trader Program.
Jr. Trader Program
Kids ages 4-16 will earn a small fun-fur buffalo robe for completing the Jr. Ranger Program. Then, using skills gained by completing the Jr. Ranger program, trade your fur for fun theme items!
Kids, ages 4-16, will trade their "buffalo robe" for various Junior Ranger and craft related items.
Service animals are permitted everywhere visitors are allowed at Fort Union Trading Post NHS, including the Bourgeois House Visitor Center.
Pick up your Junior Ranger Booklet in the Bourgeois Visitor Center. The Visitor Center's main floor, including Museum with park videos, bookstore and restrooms allows access for a manual or motorized wheelchair or mobility device.
Contact the park at 701-572-9083 or ask to speak with a Ranger while visiting to address any accessibility-related needs while working on the Junior Ranger Program. We are happy to help.
