The “Can You Make It? DIY Instruments” program is a 20–30 minute activity at the Prairie Acadian Cultural Center in Eunice, Louisiana. In this activity, students learn how the resources people have around them can shape their traditions. They will get hands‑on experience making simple instruments and discover how people have invented musical tools throughout history.

Through this activity, students will discuss how resources affect culture and traditions. They will learn about the history of the folk music in Louisiana and the United States and how everyday objects have been and can be used to create fun music over time.

Students will engage in culture, history, and musical arts through a fun interactive activity.
