USPP Seeks Two Persons of Interest - Update

Date: March 23, 2016

Washington – On March 3, 2016, the United States Park Police received a report of an attempted abduction at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. A group was leaving the north entrance of the museum when a white male grabbed the hand of one of the children. After walking a few steps with the child, one of the chaperones took notice and yelled at the man to leave the child alone. The man is then believed to have boarded a white shuttle bus in the 600 Block of Jefferson Drive SW.

The United States Park Police has identified one of the men as Bernard DRAI, aka Bernard Derei, and obtained a warrant from DC Superior Court for his arrest in connection with the above incident. DRAI is a 60 year old white male with dark hair, light blue or green eyes. DRAI is known to frequently travel to the United States and Canada from Israel and may stay in the New York City area. Due to the international nexus of this case, the United States Park Police has enlisted the assistance of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) with the investigation.

If you have any information on the whereabouts of DRAI, or have any other information related to this case, please call the USPP Tipline 202-610-8737 and reference case number 16-19402. You may also leave an anonymous tip at uspp_tipline@nps.gov.
