Riverdale, Maryland – The United States Park Police are investigating a fatal car crash that occurred northbound on the Baltimore Washington Parkway near Route 410 in Riverdale, Maryland. At about 3:45 pm on July 19, a vehicle travelling northbound struck a mower critically injuring the operator.
The victim, Joseph Benjamin Edmonds, 72, of Annandale, Virginia, was transported to Prince George’s County Hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Edmonds was an employee of Davey Tree Expert Company, a contractor for the National Park Service.
The cause and contributing circumstances to the crash remain under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
