Minute Man National Historical Park in Lexington, Lincoln, and Concord, Massachusetts, preserves the sites and landscape that became the first field of battle during the American Revolution on April 19, 1775. Popularized as “the shot heard ‘round the world,” it was here that British colonists risked their lives and property, defending their ideals of liberty. Visitors to the 967-acre park can take a guided tour, hike the 5-mile Battle Road Trail, or attend one of several special events that are held each year.
