Honoring America’s first president, George Washington Birthplace National Monument encompasses 551 acres of land where seven generations of the Washington family lived and where George Washington was born in 1732. Located in the Northern Neck of Virginia, the monument preserves the heart of the Washington plantation and family burial ground. A complex association of cultural landscapes combines with the natural resources and ecosystems to offer places for exploration and reflection.
