Barfoot Park provides one of the best U.S. examples of Madrean-influenced ponderosa pine forests. The site supports an unusually high amount of plant diversity and includes one of the largest concentrations of well-developed talus slopes in the region, supporting plant and animal species not found elsewhere at the site.
Year designated: 2011
Please remember, National Natural Landmarks (NNLs) are not national parks. NNLs are owned by a variety of public and private entities and allowing visitation is at their discretion. Many NNL sites maintain public websites where additional information may be found.
