The National Park Service is announcing a seasonal change to the hours of operation for the Salem Visitor Center (2 New Liberty Street) and Waite and Peirce (193 Derby Street) effective November 1. Visitor Center will be open Wednesday through Sunday, 10am-4pm and will be open on select Monday holidays including Martin Luther King Day (1/15) and Presidents’ Day (2/19).

Waite and Peirce, the Eastern National sales outlet at Salem Maritime, will be open 7 days a week from 10am-5pm where the public will find visitor information as well as a unique shopping experience tied to Salem’s history of global trade. The grounds of Salem Maritime National Historic Site, including historic Derby Wharf, will remain available to the public seven days a week. Visitors are invited to explore the grounds using a self-paced audio tour available for free on our website: https://www.nps.gov/sama/learn/photosmultimedia/audiotour.htm

Free Ranger-led tours will be offered Saturdays and Sundays at 1:00pm for the Custom House and at 2:30pm for the Narbonne House. In order to protect these historic resources, there are limits on tour sizes, therefore reservations are required. Please call (978) 740-1650 or stop by the Visitor Center (2 New Liberty St.) on the day of your visit to make a reservation. For more information, visit us on the web at www.nps.gov/sama or call 978-740-1650.
