- Time Zone: Atlantic Time Zone (UTC-04:00), Puerto Rico does not observe Daylight Savings Time
- Electricity: the island uses standard U.S. electrical code. Non-American appliances require an adapter
- Customs: no customs duties on articles bought in Puerto Rico and taken to the U.S. mainland. Fruits and plants bought in Puerto Rico cannot be brought on to airplanes
- Visas & Passports: not required to visit Puerto Rico from the United States
