Temporary closure of San Juan National Historic Site
San Juan, Puerto Rico- San Juan National Historic Site will be closed effective today, Sunday, April 30th at 1:00p.m. “The decision to temporarily close the park is out of abundance of care for our team members and visitors during the May Day event. We want to ensure that no one is placed into a position where they will be stuck in extreme traffic or distressed while providing their public service or attempting to visit their park” said Superintendent Randy Lavasseur. The planned May Day event will affect Old San Juan and the roadways into and out of the greater San Juan area; this decision was not made lightly.

Tourism to San Juan National Historic Site Creates 85.1 million In Economic Benefits Report Shows Visitor Spending Supports 1065 Jobs In Local Economy
San Juan, Puerto Rico - A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that 1,456,552 visitors to San Juan National Historic Site in 2016 spent 85,162.5 million in communities near the parks. That spending supported 1,065 jobs in the local area and had a cumulative benefit to the local economy of 104.363 million.

The concert is free of charge.

SAN JUAN NATIONAL HISTORIC SITE CELEBRATES NATIONAL PUBLIC LANDS DAY
San Juan, PR. – On Saturday, September 24, 2016, San Juan National Historic Site will be celebrating National Public Lands Day (NPLD) with free entrance for all of our visitors. San Juan National Historic Site will focus our Public Lands Day Community Involvement projects into eliminating graffiti from the access tunnel to Maria Magdalena de Pazzis cemetery at Puerta de San José while simultaneously conducting a shore clean up along the Paseo del Morro.

San Juan National Historic Site celebrates12th Annual Artisan’s Fair at El Morro
San Juan, Puerto Rico- Superintendent Walter J. Chavez invites you to come to Castillo San Felipe del Morro and participate in the “12th Annual Artisan Fair at El Morro” on July 23 and 24th, 2016. “Come and enjoy a weekend with local artisans and their crafts. We are expecting close to 200 artisans and this year, our 12th, promises to be our biggest yet and a highlight for the summer” said Superintendent Chavez.

NATIONAL PARK SERVICE CELEBRATES 99th BIRTHDAY AND FREE FEE DAY
San Juan, Puerto Rico- Superintendent Walter J. Chavez invites you to celebrate the 99th Birthday of the National Park Service by visiting Castillo San Felipe del Morro and Castillo San Cristobal on Tuesday, August 25th, 2015. Entrance to the fortifications will be free for all visitors in recognition of this special celebration.
