San Juan National Historic Site Proposes Fee ChangeBeginning in August 2014, National Park units were directed to conduct public outreach through civic engagement to gauge support of changes to fees to align with the new rate schedule established for the National Park Service system and supported by the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act (FLREA) of 2004. This nationwide system is to be in place by 2017.As part of this civic engagement process, San Juan National Historic Site is communicating directly with our Congressional delegations, local and state governmental and non-governmental officials, stakeholders and the public through a number of public meetings, news releases and other social media to solicit comments to this proposal.
We are soliciting comments for a proposed fee change for San Juan National Historic Site. The proposed fee in order to be in compliance with the National Park Service rate schedule is $7.00. This would replace the current $5.00 fee. Designated National Historic Sites within the National Park Service system were slated to have an entrance fee of 7.00 by 2017, when service wide entrance fees for all National Park Service sites in the system will be consistent with their designations.
Comment period is October 4 to November 2, 2016. Comments can be sent to e-mail us.
Public meetings will be held October 4 &5 where comments will also be received.
