Travel Advisories

  • The historic covered bridge connecting Cornish, NH and Windsor, VT is not passible by large RVs or busses. The closest unrestricted Connecticut River crossings are in Ascutney, VT (7 miles south) and West Lebanon, NH (12 miles north).
  • GPS may not always provide the best directions to arrive at the park. Please note that GPS often directs drivers over several miles of unpaved backroads before arriving at the park. This route is indeed scenic, but not always the most direct. See descriptive directions below.

The main park site including the visitor center, Aspet, and galleries is located at:

Recommended routes include:
  • From western Massachusetts and points south, take Route I-91 North to Exit 8 (Ascutney). Bear right, proceed through the traffic light and across the Connecticut River. At next light, turn left onto NH Route 12A and go north about 8 miles (10 minutes). Saint-Gaudens Road will be on the right 1.5 miles past the Cornish-Windsor covered bridge. Proceed up Saint-Gaudens Road .5 miles. The parking lot will be on your right.
  • From northern Vermont, and northwestern N.H., take Route I-91 South to Route I-89 South. Cross the Connecticut River and take the first exit, #20 (West Lebanon). Turn right onto NH Route 12A South. Continue about 12 miles, Saint-Gaudens Road will be on the left. Proceed up Saint-Gaudens Road .5 miles. The parking lot will be on your right.
  • From western Vermont, take Route I-91 South to Route I-89 South. Cross the Connecticut River and take the first exit, #20 (West Lebanon), Turn right onto NH Route 12A South. Continue about 12 miles, Saint-Gaudens Road will be on the left. Proceed up Saint-Gaudens Road .5 miles. The parking lot will be on your right.
  • From eastern N.H. and Massachusetts, take Route I-89 north - use exit #20 (West Lebanon). At exit, turn left onto Route 12A, Continue about 12 miles, Saint-Gaudens Road will be on the left.Proceed up Saint-Gaudens Road .5 miles. The parking lot will be on your right.

Parking

The main parking lot is located along Saint-Gaudens Road.

Accessible parking is available near the visitor center.

Additional parking is located about 500 feet west also along Saint-Gaudens Road. Large RVs, school buses, and motorcoaches should use this overflow lot. Visitors attending concerts or other large-scale events at the park should also expect to use this parking area as the main lot often fills early in the day. Users of this lot should proceed up the mowed field to the visitor center or information tent (large events only).

Blow-Me-Down Farm

Some special events including performances by Opera North are held at Blow-Me-Down Farm on Beaman Drive along Route 12A. Please note this area is not open to the public daily.

Traveling to the Area

By plane, the area is locally serviced by Lebanon Municipal Airport in West Lebanon, NH. Rental cars are available nearby. The Manchester, NH and Burlington, VT airports are within a two hour drive by car. There is direct bus service from Logan Airport in Boston to Lebanon and Hanover, NH.

By train, the area may be reached via Amtrak which makes once daily stops in Windsor, VT (2.5 miles) and White River Junction, VT (13 miles). Rental cars are available in the White River Junction, VT and nearby West Lebanon, NH areas.

By bus, stops are in Lebanon (17 miles), Hanover (25 miles) and White River Junction, VT (13 miles). Rental cars are available in the White River Junction, VT and West Lebanon, NH areas. There is no local bus service to the park.
